SMOKE PRESSURE SYSTEM
The project features an innovative smoke pressure system that allows rooms to build pressure as fires burn. Smoke spreads from room to room and fills the house and needs to be ventilated by opening doors and windows.
MULTIPLAYER
Using Unity's newest networking package, Netcode for GameObjects, the game is multiplayer ready for up to 12 players. The game is deployed on AWS EC2 instances but is dockerized and can be hosted anywhere.
THERMAL IMAGING
Our team worked closely with Allen Fire Department to make sure they train with the same tools they use in the field. This includes a thermal imaging camera to find fires in walls and victims through smoke.
FUTURE PLANS
In our next contract with Allen we plan on adding Office Warehouse and Apartment Complex levels as well as substantial improvements to realism. Additionally, voice-over-IP will be added so departments can train together virtually to practice interdepartmental communication. We hope with further funding in the future we can add High-Rise training to the platform.
